About Mark

Mark Wallheiser has been a photojournalist in Tallahassee, Florida for 28 years.  He specializes in unique corporate and commercial photography.

He has won many awards in his 27-year professional photography career as a staff photographer at the Tallahassee Democrat newspaper and freelanced for magazines such as Stern, Newsweek, Time, Sports Illustrated and Business Week.  Mark was a contract freelance photographer in north Florida for Reuters America for 12 years.

Mark brings his photojournalistic vision to the corporate and commercial market in Tallahassee.

Mark was named Florida News Photographer of the year in 1989.  He was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in public service for his 8 month expose on the crack cocaine problem in Tallahassee and has claimed several 1st place awards in the National Press Photographers Association, of which he is a member.  His prize winning photography was a part of the 2006 Pulitzer Prize team at the Biloxi Sun Herald for the newspaper’s coverage of Hurricane Katrina.  Mark is also a member of Editorial Photographer, SportsShooter.com, as well as, the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.

Mark is sought after for his skilled NCAA and NFL football sports photography.  He has covered all sports at Florida State University and photographed several BCS National Championship bowl games, as well as NFL Super Bowls.

Mark Wallheiser is highly regarded in Tallahassee, Florida for his unique portrait photography that has been praised for its ability to cut through the noisy marketplace for his corporate and commercial clients.
